Coventry Clear-outs: Getting Waste Out of the House
Earlsdon’s older red-brick streets include homes with gardens and side entrances. The useful question is how waste will get from your rooms to the skip.
Front door or side gateTell us which route you will use for old cupboards or garden waste. A narrow side passage is a walking route, not room for a lorry.
Measure your own driveCheck the usable ground between walls, gates and the house. Keep the front door and any shared entrance open.
Tiles add weight quicklyFor a kitchen or bathroom job, describe tiles and rubble separately from wooden units so the load can be agreed.
The person helps you picture the size. Cubic yards tell you how much space is inside, not how much weight the skip can hold. Sizes vary, so confirm the measurements and access when you call.
Coventry City-Centre Skips: Agree the Position First
Coventry checks a road skip’s position for traffic, crossings and access. A space near the building may still be unsuitable.
Keep away from junctionsThe council normally keeps skips at least 20 metres from a junction and away from crossing zig-zags. A difficult spot needs advice before delivery.
Do not block a doorwayThe permit conditions protect access for people and emergency vehicles. Leave drains and service covers clear too.
Arrange collection when fullCoventry’s conditions require a full road skip to be removed as soon as possible and within one working day. Tell us when your waste will be ready.
Ask Coventry’s Parking Services about the exact bay before relying on the space for delivery or a skip.
Five working days for a requestThe council needs at least five working days to deal with a parking-bay suspension. Weekends and bank holidays do not count.
Name the bay and lengthThe application asks whether it is a residents’ or pay-and-display bay, how much space is needed and for how many days.
Explain that it is for a skipThe parking form also covers work vehicles. Make clear what will occupy the bay and confirm the separate skip permission.
